About me
I was an apprentice Toolmaker at AllenWest Wallacetown in Ayr, working there for a total of 5 years.
Subsequently I moved to GE Caledonian at Prestwick Airport, where I initially worked on the stripdown and inspection of the fan module of the CF6 engine type, then moved to fan module assembly, which was coupled with supervised final release inspection of module to engine build. At the same time, I was involved in 'Six Sigma' cost saving projects.
After 5 years at GE I got married and went on a one year honeymoon, travelling round the world.
On returning from our travels in 2001, we moved down to Alderley Edge, and my wife started her job at Alderley Park as a scientist. For 6 months I worked on our 1950's house and brought it bang up to date.
After finishing on our house, I started the handyman business and this was an instant hit, with bookings and recommendations keeping me in a full time job.
I have a keen interest in photography and travel, which has resulted in sales of my travel images with a few photo agencies, including Travel-ink . I have also started loading pictures onto the Alamy photo agency website as well.
