Dust sheets and a hoover are always used. I always respect customers property and leave my work area clean and tidy. With dusty jobs, doors are sealed or sheets hung, and extraction used to reduce dust in the premises.
I always try to arrive on time, and will call you if I'm going to be more than 10 minutes late.
Payment on completion of work, or every Friday if working for more than 1 week. Cash, cheque or bank transfere accepted.
Materials, plus 25%**
Use of some expensive tooling is charged as an extra cost.
I will consider jobs outwith Alderley Edge/Wilmslow, but travel time/fuel will be added to invoice.
Some larger material costs may have to be paid in advance.
I have public liability insurance up to one million pounds, covering 'general property maintenance' in domestic and commercial properties. Covered by Your Insurance
*Whats included in the labour rate?
I'm not vat registered, so no vat is added to this price.
Also includes tax, NI, sick pay, holiday pay, workwear, public liability insurance,
van purchase price/maintenance/fuel/depreciation/insurance, accountant, stock,
quoting time, tooling purchase/maintenance/replacement,
advertising, phone, pension etc
**Why add 25% to materials?
This covers my time to order/collect/deliver materials, then means they are also my responsibility. Any errors in quantities/quality are rectified by myself at no extra cost to you.
I have no problem with the customer getting their own materials to save money, but the materials are then the cutomers responsibility.
Waste removal
It costs an amazingly expensive £110 per ton (this is the actual charge from the council tip!), minimum charge of 1/2 ton, plus the time and fuel to take the rubbish. It is normally cheaper to get a skip, or for you to take the waste to a household tip in your own car, or put small items into your wheelie bin.
and £180 for a builders skip at the moment.
I find them the most reliable in the area for delivering/collecting skips,
and they are a local company.
I'm not allowed into any of the local tips with my commercial van.
Fuel costs
Only charged as an extra when travelling outwith Alderley Edge / Wilmslow area, for example, when
moving or collecting items for customers. My van does about 25mpg when fully loaded.
I normally just fill the van, do the job, then fill again, and the second fill is what you pay.
Confidentiality agreements
I have no problems with these, just ask.
CRB check
As I'm self employed, I can't apply for a CRB check myself. My employer (you) would have to apply for a check, and it costs £26. The check isn't transferable between my customers either.
Just ask me for the details/documents you require, if you wish a CRB check done.
